FAQ
Can the cable for the remote control be extended? If so, what type of wire is recommended?
Can be extended, use 24AWG gauge shielded wire.
How do I check if the size fits the current installation space (e.g. Atwood GC6-AA-10E)?
The standard opening size of the product is 13*13 inches, 15*15, 15*18, 18*18 inches RV water heater door frame can be selected according to the actual opening size, such as replacing Atwood GC6-AA-10E, 15*15 inches RV water heater door frame is selected.
How long can the water heater heat water continuously?
The product can provide hot water all the time with sufficient water, gas and power supply.
How does the anti-freeze mechanism work?
When the water temperature in the water heater falls below 43°F ± 2°F (6 ± 1°C), the remote control displays “FD” and the unit starts to ignite and run under a certain load. The water heater will automatically shut off after 5 seconds of operation or when the water line temperature reaches 90°F + 2°F (32+1°C) within 2 seconds.
After 3 minutes of shutdown, the water heater will check to see if the temperature is below 43°F ± 2*F (6+1°C) or when the anti-freeze thermostat contacts close to run the heater and continue this cycle.
How do I properly evacuate or prevent winter freeze-ups?
AUTOMATIC HEATING AND FREEZE PROTECTION: The water heater will automatically activate the heating and freeze protection functions when the temperature falls below 42.8°F (6°C).Make sure the machine is connected to power and gas to activate this feature.
MANUAL DRAINING TO PREVENT FREEZING: If the machine will not be used for an extended period of time, or if the ambient temperature is below 32°F (0°C) and the machine is unable to maintain electrical and gas power, it will be necessary to drain the water heater to prevent damage due to freezing.
The process is as follows:
1. Close the LPG (liquid propane gas) shut-off valve.
2. Turn off power to the RV tankless water heater and unplug the machine.
3. Close the water supply shut-off valve.
4. Open the hot water faucet in the RV or camper to release water and pressure from the pipes.
5. Unscrew the drain screw inside the machine to drain the water; use a bucket to collect any remaining water while draining.
6. Drainage may take more than 10 minutes. Make sure the water is completely drained from the machine.
7. Screw the drain screw firmly back into place and turn off the hot water faucet and hot water outlet valve.
Before using your RV tankless water heater next time, plug it back into a 12V DC power source, turn the machine on, and then open the water supply shut-off valve, the hot water outlet valve, and the LPG valve (liquid propane gas).
